The Vegetable Orchestra - Jürgen Berlakovich
The Vegetable Orchestra performs on instruments made of fresh vegetables. The utilization of various - ever refined - vegetable instruments creates a musically and aesthetically unique sound universe.
The orchestra was founded in 1998. It's based in Vienna, and plays concerts all over the world. The players perform on the cucumberphone, the celeriac bongo, the eggplant clapper and a leek zuccini vibrator.
Emma spoke with JürgenBerlakovich, an author, musician, soundartist and ensemble player in The Vegetable Orchestra. He also writes, composes and produces novels, essays, film music, radio plays, audiocartoons, soundscapes and songs.
